Shay Mitchell is a Canadian actressmodeland entrepreneur. The most famous character is Emily Fields, she is an actress and model on the Freeform TV show Pretty Little Liars. When she was a pro at dancing and modelling, she wanted to try acting and started taking classes in acting in Toronto. Mitchell was cast in guest roles and commercials prior to getting the big break. Both the critics and the audience applauded her talents. She then went on to create a name for herself in the world of cinema by starring in films such as DreamlandMother's Dayand The Possession of Hannah Grace. The role she played in the psychological thriller series "You" led to more recognition. Apart from performing, she also dabbled in writing. Together with Michaela Blaney, she co-wrote an adult book titled Bliss. Shay Mitchell was raised in Ontario by her parents Mark Mitchell & Precious Gonzalez. Shay Mitchell was born on 10th April, 1987. She was the daughter of Filipino immigrants and her father hailed from Irish and Scottish roots. Mitchell is the cousin of Lea Salonga, the famous actor in musical theater and singer. Mitchell went to Rockridge Secondary, before switching to West Vancouver Secondary. As a teenager, she had already worked as an actress for corporations in several countries. After traveling to Barcelona, Bangkok and Hong Kong she returned to Toronto, where she studied acting.
