Maureen Denise McCormick born 5th August 1956 Woodland Hills California, youngest daughter and only daughter of Richard McCormick. Her family consisted of an aunt who worked as an housewife, and her father who was a teacher. Michael Dennis, Kevin and Dennis are her three older brothers. McCormick started singing and performing at a very young age. The fairytale story of her rise to fame began when she took home the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest when she was 6 which led to an inquiry from an agent for talent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency who asked if she'd like to work in show business. McCormick was offered her first gig as an actress major in 1964. She starred in a commercial for Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. That same year, she was featured in a second commercial on television for Chatty Cathy's doll. The following year, McCormick was cast at La Jolla Playhouse to play the character of the character It up before It breaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick's audition was one of 1200 children for the part of the eldest towheaded daughter in The Brady Bunch. The show starred Florence Henderson and Robert Reed, newlyweds who had an unmarried family. The show ran for five seasons. In her memoir Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice which was published in 2008 McCormick admitted that in the shows fifth season she was close to losing her virginity to her screen brother and co-star Barry Williams. The actress was sixteen years older and the actor 19, at the moment. It would have happened she told me, but the timing wasn't right for us.
