Maureen FitzSimons's early accomplishments in the performing arts, which are now known as Maureen O'Hara, would certainly qualify her to be in being in the "child prodigy" category. As a person with Irish heritage, and surrounded as she was by gifted parents, and her family did this naturally. Maureen was welcomed into the sanctity of family on August 17 1920 located in Ranelagh (a suburb of Dublin), Ireland. Marguerita FitzSimons' mother, Lilburn, was a contralto. Charles FitzSimons managed a Dublin-based firm and also owned a stake of "The Shamrock Rovers," famous Irish soccer squad. Maureen FitzSimons was the daughter of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy, Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons completed this lovely family. Maureen was an athletic natural and enjoyed playing tough sports. Her passion and her gift for performing was remarkable. As evidenced by getting almost every Feis award for drama or theatrical performing her country offered. At the age of 14, she was accepted by the Abbey Theater accepted her and permitted her to pursue her passion for classical theatre as well as singing opera.
